Did you notice that initial few minutes of a sales talk are very difficult and very crucial? Do you know that as soon as you meet your prospect, he starts evaluating you? Within first glance first he scans through your physical appearance. He listens to you very attentively and within first 15 seconds he decides whether he is going to buy from you or not. During rest of the conversation he just validates his decision and act the accordingly. Changing his initial impression can be very difficult.
Therefore, you need to take every care to ensure that his first impression is the best impression. Literally a your initial few statements will decide your luck. Most of the salespeople do know it but do not practice it. We have found that most of the salespeople do not prepare well for their opening statement and just speak up whatever flow out of their lips. But this can be a irreversible mistake.
I am sure you must be interested to know what to say during the introductory talk to your prospect. Let me share with you what should be the content of your introductory statement. As per my experience your introductory statement must contain the five elements.
Your Name and company name and what do you offer one-line statement
What type of customers you deal with?
What Common fears and expectations of your target customers you address?
What is your USP, how are you different than your competitors?
It should appeal to left, the logical brain and right, the emotional brain
