4 Questions that Will Make You Hyper Productive

As a salesperson your most essential asset for revenue generation is your ability to earn.  The most successful salespeople keep on enhancing their earning ability every single day. 

You have been developing your earning capability right from the beginning of your career. The best resource to utilize your earning capability is your time, the minutes, and hours you use for your sales activity each day.  Whatever you have in your life today, your car your home, your lifestyle, it is the result of how efficiently you have been using your time for putting your earning ability at work.  The results which you have created in your life are dependent on how you have traded your time during all your life. 

We are all busy.  And we all find time lacking to do more.  But God has given equal time to all the salespeople.  There are salespeople who have used their time effectively and created envious results in their life.

 

Time is an extremely limiting and precious resource.  Therefore, time is more important and valuable than money.  But time is also the most wasted resource for so many people. 

My name is Rakesh Sharma and I support the business owners and salespeople to grow their business and maximize their profits.  Today I am going to share with you some important tips so that you can become highly productive and utilize your time for getting more and more sales.

Before I get going let me request you to get a pen and notepad and take notes on how these tips can be utilized for getting the best results from the following tips. These are very applicable solutions and therefore, I suggest that you practice them religiously.

Our quality and prosperity of life depends on how effectively we are utilizing our time for different activities.  A salesperson has the prime responsibility to use every second of his available time for two most important activities which are as follows-

  1. Enhance earning by enhancing selling skills: For a salesperson, his earning capability lie in his selling skills. Nothing else will give you more rapid enhancement in your income than increasing your selling skills.  You can spend your time in making yourself more capable and confident in the activities you do to get a sale.  You must spend your time for improving your competence in Prospecting, Presentation Skills, Negotiation Skills, Product Knowledge, Order Closure and so many other selling activities.  These activities are integral part of your selling process and you need to do everything to master these activities.  Therefore, a salesperson must spend his time, in reading books, attending seminars and getting the coaching classes.
  2.  The remaining time should be spent on nothing but on making more and more sales activities.  For using your time effectively, you must ask the following questions to yourself-
    1. The first question is, ‘WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SELLING ACTIVITIES YOU SHOULD PERFORM?’  The most important selling activities are prospecting, relationship building, need identification, making presentation, handling objections in questions, negotiation and order closing, and seeking referrals from your satisfied customers.  The more time you spend on these activities the more you will be able to you earn.  Therefore, you must spend your significant time on these activities.  You must commit the certain number of hours of daily from your available time to perform these activities.  And you should never compromise on these activities and time.  If you do so you will be able to get the best output from your time.
    2. The second important question you should ask is, ‘WHAT IS MY OBJECTIVE IN MY BUSINESS?’  If you are an employee, you can ask, ‘WHY I AM ON THE PAYROLL?’ Now you can review what you are doing regularly.  If your activities are not directly linked to selling then you need to reconsider the way you spend your time on these activities.  Most likely you need to stop doing any such wasteful activities. 
    3. The third question you need to ask is, ‘WHAT ARE FEW ACTIVITIES WHICH I AND ONLY I CAN DO TO IN MY BUSINESS, TO MAKE A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO MY COMPANY?’ If the answer to this question is, activities like prospecting, objection handling, or negotiation, then you can continue doing these activities; otherwise these activities will not get done.  And this may lead to significant losses to the business.   The successful completion of these activities must become your priority. 
    4. The, fourth question, you must ask is, ‘WHAT IS THE BEST USE OF MY TIME RIGHT NOW?’ Your primary task is to find the answer to this question and work on this task until it is completed. Lots of people do not have clarity to this question.  Then do the task which is at hand at this point of time. Lots of people are busy in doing lots of tasks and activities but they are not very sure whether this is the most important task. 

 

 

Lots of people are not clear about their priorities. They keep themselves busy in various activities, but they are not very sure whether those activities are giving them the desired results. As I said earlier, the time is the most precious asset for any salesperson. You must begin to plan your day week and month in advance.  You must plan your activities and time accordingly.  Begin each morning with your most important task and discipline yourself to stay on it until it is completed to a hundred percent.
